Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about any of my services? See below some of the most frequently asked questions.
Does the semi-permanent procedure hurt?
BROWS: 2/10 - The pain is very minimal as ink is only implanted into the upper epidermis, which is the outer most layer of the skin. While everyone's pain tolerance varies, clients are numbed throughout the procedure and do not complain about pain. At most there is slight discomfort.

LIPS: 4/10 - The pain is a little higher for lip blushing as ink is implanted into the dermis layer to ensure long lasting results, which is deeper in the skin than the epidermis. Clients go through a double-numbing process (pre-numb + duration numbing) and are numbed throughout the procedure to ensure maximum comfort.

Following pre-care instructions is critical to ensure no other factors are affecting one's pain tolerance during the procedure. All clients are emailed pre and post-care instructions at the time of booking.
How long does semi-permanent makeup last?
Ombre powder, nano hair strokes and lip blush can last up to 3 years with proper accordance to pre-care and post-care. Skin type (normal, oily, combo and dry), lifestyle and skincare all play huge roles in the longevity of semi-permanent makeup.
These services are semi-permanent, not permanent. They will require maintenance (typically every 12 to 24 months), depending on the factors listed above as they will naturally fade over time.
All clients are emailed thorough post-care instructions to help prolong the life of their new brows and/or lips. Pre and post-care instructions can also be found here.
What can I expect from the brow healing process and results?
DAY 1 - 4
-
Brows will gradually become darker as they begin to scab up and prepare to flake off
-
Itching and slight discomfort is normal and to be expected

DAY 5 - 14
-
Brows will begin flaking off in random pieces and will appear light underneath
-
Do not pick or pull them off as this may remove pigment and affect how the brows heal

After brows fully flake off
-
Brows will appear their lightest at this stage as the epidermis layer has just sloughed off
-
Your brows will begin to darken over the next few weeks to its final colour

DAYS 14 - 35+
-
Brows will build colour and definition over the next few weeks
-
This is why touch-up can only be done after at least 4 weeks from your initial appointment

Am I eligible to get semi-permanent makeup?
Unlike microblading or other manual semi-permanent makeup services, semi-permanent brow services and lip blush do not "cut" the skin with a blade to implant pigment making it suitable for almost all clients and skin types.
It uses a tattoo machine and a pin-like needle with a pre-determined and set needle length to implant pigment into the correct depth of skin. This technique does not cut the skin and does not normally cause bleeding.
However, individual skin sensitivity and health conditions may affect the appointment, healed results and a client's eligibility for these services.
Contraindications can be read here.
Do you offer training?
Yes! I offer both Beginner's and Advanced Brow Training classes. 3-day Beginner's fundamentals brow training teaches students ombre powder, introduction to nano hair strokes and combination brows techniques. Students will view a live brow demonstration by the instructor and have their own live model to work on for certification. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Advanced powder brow training is for students who have been previously certified (for at least 6 months) and require additional training on specific technical and theoretical concepts to fine-tune and perfect their skills.
This is also curated for certified powder brow artists who want a refresher of the entire procedure and updated techniques and concepts.

Details for each course including topics covered, what is included in student kits and the course, breakdown of each day and pricing can be found here.
